The story behind Black Barrel Armouries

Black Barrel Armouries was born out of a shared frustration between two friends. One brought years of hands-on engineering, problem-solving and practical design experience. The other brought a deep background in firearms, marksmanship and the kind of field knowledge you only get by spending time behind the trigger.

Both had seen too many shooting accessories fall short of their promises. They were either overcomplicated, underbuilt or simply missed the mark. So we decided to take matters into our own hands.

What started as an idea around a workbench quickly turned into a full concept: a UK-based company committed to building reliable, purpose-driven firearm accessories with real shooters in mind. With one of us focused on precision engineering and the other fluent in practical firearms use, we had everything we needed to design, test and build better solutions.

At Black Barrel Armouries, we don’t build for show. We build for shooters who expect more.

Where Precision Meets Progress

  • A collection of black firearm suppressors in a foam-lined case.

    Sell it.

We are actively developing and preparing to launch a full suite of precision-engineered muzzle brakes, suppressors, flash hiders, and optics, each designed with performance, reliability, and compliance at the core. These products represent our current focus and form the foundation of Black Barrel Armouries. This phase will see us bring our designs to market, build trust with our user base, and establish a reputation for innovation and manufacturing excellence. As we grow, we’ll use the success of these first offerings to unlock the next phase of our development.

  • Dream it.

Once our first line of end-of-barrel devices and accessories is fully operational and on the market, our next ambition is to expand into full firearms development. This includes the design and manufacture of critical components and ultimately, complete firearm systems built from the ground up.

Achieving this will require investment, infrastructure, and securing Registered Firearms Dealer (RFD) status within the UK. We understand the responsibilities that come with this step and are prepared to meet the legal, technical, and operational standards required to deliver high-performance, UK-developed weapons platforms. This is more than a long-term goal, it’s a commitment we are actively preparing for.

  • Modern two-story building made of stacked black shipping containers with white text indicating various functions such as 'Admin & Design', 'Black Barrel Armories', 'Assembly & Test Lab', and 'Range Control, Customer Reception, PPE, Briefing'.

    Build it.

With the right support and momentum behind our product range, the next phase for Black Barrel Armouries is to establish our own dedicated facility. This will serve as both our operational headquarters and a site for manufacturing, assembly, and innovation.

Our vision is to secure the appropriate land, planning permissions, and certifications needed to create a compliant, purpose-built space where we can scale production, streamline development, and operate under one roof. This facility will be the foundation for long-term growth, supporting new product lines, RFD activities, and a sustainable, self-reliant future for the company.

  • Shooting range with four people aiming rifles at targets in an outdoor shooting bay, and a large black shipping container with 'Black Barrel Armouries' written on it.

    Grow it.

Our long-term vision extends beyond manufacturing. Once our dedicated facility is established, we aim to develop an on-site shooting range, creating a professional, secure, and fully equipped environment for our customers, members, and the wider shooting community.

This range will not only serve as a proving ground for our products, but also as a hub for training, education, and community engagement. Visitors will have access to expert personnel, precision equipment, and a safe space to shoot, learn, and connect. It represents our commitment to growing not just as a manufacturer, but as a destination for responsible firearms use and innovation in the UK.
